Similar to previous years, DVSC is supporting the Leukemia Children Foundation with donations this year as well. This time, the football players and the club surprised the little patients being cared for at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of the University of Debrecen Clinical Center with gift packages containing children’s toys on the occasion of the upcoming holiday.

“It is very important to maintain not only the physical recovery of children, not only to try to improve their general well-being, but also their mood. Well, on the one hand, we ourselves, the patient care staff, are of great help in this,” Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia Foundation for Children, Csongor Kiss said.

This goal is supported by donations from an increasingly wide range of donors each year. The DVSC football club, which has been supporting young patients for a long time, is already a permanent member of this community.

“It is part of DVSC’s philosophy to always give back to the local community, especially our fans and young people. For me, they are the real champions and not us. They are the winners of life,” President of DVSC Football Ltd., Ike Thierry Zaengel said.

Among the football team players, Brandon Domingues, Botond Vajda and Márk Szécsi also met the children cared for in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of the Clinical Center.

“It’s not really about us, but about the children who are here, so if we can contribute even a little bit to their time spent here, or to their recovery with those gifts, or maybe by coming to them, then it’s worth it,” Márk Szécsi pointed out.

The city has also joined the initiative. On behalf of the Municipality, Deputy Notary, Csaba Danku delivered gift packages to the children in the ward.

“As far as I know, there are children between the ages of 1 and 8 in the institution now, and I gave them toys for girls and boys that are suitable for them,” the Deputy Notary emphasised. The department takes care of 15 sick children at a time. I would like to make their time in the hospital more beautiful with the surprises.

The surprises are intended to make their time in hospital more enjoyable.
