The Térey Book Festival is organized by the Péter Méliusz Juhász Library. In addition to the commemoration of János Térey, the program series focuses on contemporary literature in Debrecen – through diverse literary programs.

12 September, 5 pm, at the courtyard of the Debrecen Reformed College: ”Mihály, or the ghosts of a city” – A surreal musical-literary performance was created from the idea that Mihály Vitéz Csokonai, born 250 years ago, one of the most important poets of Hungarian Enlightenment literature, is not just a mythical figure of the past, but a very present person: he is the great Debrecen streamer, even new wave rapper
13 September, 12- 3 pm, Déri Square: “I fly through in length of my country” – Traveling exhibition on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi
13 September, 7 pm, Déri Museum Ballroom: The novelist reads – series of literary discussions – János Géczi
14 September, 10 am, Vámospércs, Térey Library: Remembering János Térey
14 September, 5 pm, in front of 17 Kétmalom Street: commemoration of János Térey who died in 2019, at his birthplace,
14 September, 5.30pm, 2 Nyíl Street: Handover of Térey Book Corner – The exhibition includes the furniture and objects of the poet’s writing apartment on Viza Street, representing both his childhood in Debrecen and his mature writing period.
16 September, 2 pm: Alföldi “Deákos” City Tour based on the book of songs and anecdotes by Debrecen Students, published in the summer of 2023, guided by local history researcher Máté Horog, the book’s editor
16 September, 4 pm, 44 Simonyi Road (in front of Pálma Restaurant): Art deco in the puszta – In memory of János Térey, walk in the footsteps of architect István Sajó

17 September, 10 am, 44 Simonyi Road: Walk in Szentlászlófalva in memory of János Térey
18 September, 9 am, Déri Museum, Ballroom: Our heritage Debrecen – 2nd Local History Conference and Award Ceremony of the Civil House of the Year Award
Finally, the staff of the Déri Museum will present the projects and researches related to the renewed permanent local history exhibition
