“Source of Development—Suppliers Forum—Autumn 2024!” is the theme under which representatives of local small and medium-sized enterprises are invited to the Nagyerdei Stadium on the 19th of November.

For the fourth time, the organisers will offer SMEs the opportunity to get involved in the supply chain of large companies. So far, 120 SMEs and 14 large companies have registered to participate.

In the coming years, the city government will pay increased attention to the development of SMEs as key players in Debrecen’s economic growth.

The SME Park infrastructure will be upgraded by the end of the year, and business training in the city will continue. Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa, at the launch of the new suppliers’ forum, emphasised that large investments coming to the city need to build an additional supply chain.

“The city will only benefit greatly from these large investments if local small and medium-sized enterprises can join these supplier value chains,” he said.

The interest in the Supplier Forum is now so great that 120 SMEs have already registered to participate. There will also be an opportunity for introductory talks to facilitate business contacts. A total of 14 large companies will be represented, 5 of which have not yet participated in the Forum.

Managing Director of EDC Debrecen Zoltán Pécskay said that thanks to their professional partners, the focus will be on presenting financing opportunities in both SME and supplier financing. He stressed that in addition to funding, innovation will also be in the spotlight.

The managing director of MBH Bank’s mid-market business unit, Péter Nyisztor, said that supporting causes that can make businesses successful is essential. “I think this event can contribute significantly to the economic development of not only the region but also Hungary,” he said.

Director of the Asset Division of Euroleasing PLC Gergely Göblös emphasised that leasing is an optimal form of financing that can be very helpful to SMEs. Euroleasing is working to raise the share of such funding to Western European levels. “We believe it is crucial and necessary to support the SME sector with flexible and fast financing services,” he highlighted.

The Suppliers Forum will take place on the 19th of  November at the Nagyerdei Stadium.

Participation in the forum is free of charge, but registration is required. Interested representatives of local SMEs can register by filling out the form available here.
