Tucked within the verdant embrace of the University Botanical Garden, the Agora Science Centre beckons visitors of all ages to step into a world where curiosity leads and wonder awaits. Since opening its doors in February 2015, Agora has set out with the mission to bring the marvels of physics, chemistry, astronomy and more into everyday life â in ways that are playful, accessible and inspiring.
Inside its sleek, threeâstory interactive building, guests can engage with over forty handsâon scientific exhibits. Whether generating music with simulated lightning, balancing on a bike two meters in the air, exploring magnetic cannons, or probing optical illusions â Agora invites bold experimentation. Spectacular demonstrations, educational shows, and robotics performances punctuate every dayâs schedule.
At select times, the centreâs mobile digital planetarium opens the vault of the night sky: guests may journey among stars, observe planetary motions, or experience immersive fullâdome films, in English or Hungarian. During summer and on special evenings, Agora also hosts stargazing sessions with telescopes and expert guides under the open skies.
Beyond its indoor delights, Agora connects science with nature, offering visitors access to the adjacent Botanical Garden â complete with themed discovery trails and playful quizzes. Its programming spans school group visits and summer camps, to weekend family events and special series like the WATCH careerâorientation program and BASF Kidsâ Lab for budding scientists.
In all its facets, Agora emerges not just as a museum of experiments, but as a living playground of ideas â a place where learning, wonder and handsâon adventure converge to awaken fascination with the sciences and the world we inhabit.
