Matáv Magyar Távközlési Rt. was established on 31 December 1991 as the legal successor of the independent telecommunications company created in December 1989 by the split of Magyar Posta into three parts. The company remained 100% state-owned until the end of 1993. In March 2004, Matáv’s Board of Directors decided to change the name of Westel and join T-Mobile, one of the world’s leading mobile brands. Since May 2004, the company’s official name is T-Mobile Magyarország Rt., and it remains a wholly owned subsidiary of the Matáv Group. You can also find stores at the following locations:
