The Body Shop was founded in Brighton in 1976 by Anita Roddick. The brand has retained its activist ethos and is now found in over 40 countries. The Body Shop’s beauty formula is based on natural ingredients, ancient recipes, and modern technology. Hand-harvested and traditionally produced shea butter in Ghana, sesame oil from Nicaragua, beeswax traditionally harvested in Cameroon, organic aloe vera, and many other fair trade treasures enrich each of their products.
