Lajos Barcsa studied at the Bányai Júlia Elementary School, then at the Debrecen Reformed College, where he graduated in 2001. He obtained a law degree from the University of Debrecen in 2006 and a law certificate in 2011. In 2017, he received a Master’s in European and International Economic Law (University of Debrecen) and an MBA in Economics (University of Debrecen) in 2021.

He was a junior lawyer between 2006 and 2008. He worked as a civil servant at the County Consumer Protection Inspectorate since 2008, where he was an administrator from 2008 to 2009, head of the legal department from 2009 to 2010, and director since December 2010. He has a higher-level professional certificate in English and an intermediate-level certificate in German.

Lajos Barcsa has been the Deputy Mayor of Debrecen since November 2014.

In 2012, he received the Consumer Protection Award in recognition of his outstanding professional achievements in consumer protection at home and abroad. He is the municipal representative of the 15th constituency of Debrecen.
