The event will run from Friday to Sunday evening (13 -15 September 2024), with free family programmes during the day and performances by Hungary’s best-known gastronomic actors in the evening. The event will be held in a vast, 4,000-square-metre enclosed tent in the Nagyerdei Stadium.

This year’s offer will again be very colourful, with nine restaurants and seven brandy houses to choose from. The organisers are also catering to beer, wine, and whiskey lovers. This year, there will also be gluten-free and vegan options, so everyone can find a delicious meal to suit their tastes.

This year, the Zamat Festival will be hosting a region; this time, the Karcag Sheep Cooking Festival will have a unique stand and showcase the extremely popular Hungarian delicacy. Kun master chefs will cook the sheep stew on the spot and make it available for purchase in limited quantities.

For the gastro-show programmes, Zsolt Anger, Gianni Annoni, Gábor Krausz, Rozina Wossala, and József Bernáth will also be in Debrecen. Guests will be able to meet Judit Stahl at the opening ceremony, and this year’s Zamat will be hosted by Dani Sass, a gastronomic blogger and presenter.

The Zamat Festival will feature a jazz concert, a song and song night and a bar pianist.

Every day of the festival, children will receive special attention. They will be treated to a bouncy castle, a giant slide, folk games, face painting, henna and glitter tattoos, and children’s crafts.

This year, there will also be a farmers market in front of the entrance. Except for the market, the Zamat Festival will be completely cash-free again this year (you can pay with any credit card, UniPass card, or loaded card purchased on-site).
