The Debrecen Vocational Training Centre (DSZC) is again organising its major spring career guidance event.
On the 13th of May 2023, Kossuth Square will be the venue for the vocational festival, where 35 exhibitors – including BMW Group Plant Debrecen as a key partner – will be waiting for young people and their parents interested in vocational training. Details were announced at a press conference on the 8th of May, 2023.
The Debrecen Vocational Training Centre hopes that many people will visit the stands of partner companies and institutions at their second major career orientation event in spring. In addition to young people, parents are also welcome to Kossuth Square.
“We think it is very important that this is a family event where parents and children can come out and learn in a playful and interactive way about the professional concepts that today’s modern factories and companies represent in our training”, Sándor Szilágyi, Director General of DSZC, said.
During the programme, 35 exhibitors, including representatives of 18 companies, will provide information to those interested.
Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Lajos Barcsa said that the city has made vocational training a central topic.
“Keeping local talent in the area is an essential part of our strategy. To do this, we need to be able to meet the needs of the labour market. These needs rely heavily on the talent coming out of the vocational training centre,” the deputy mayor stressed, adding that the number of students in vocational training has risen from 7,500 to around 11,000 and could reach 12,000 by the next academic year. This will also mean an expansion of institutions. The deputy mayor cited the further development of the Beregszászi Technical School and the Brassai and Mechwart schools as examples.
The BMW Group Plant Debrecen will be the main partner of the festival. Réka Jenei, head of communications of BMW Group Plant Debrecen, stressed that the company’s commitment to vocational training is demonstrated by the fact that in September, a total of 100 students will start their studies in 4 professions at the factory’s educational centre.
“Our colleagues, the vocational trainers of our dual programme, will be present at the event, who will be not only teachers but also mentors for our future colleagues and vocational training students,” she added.
In addition to the presentations and useful information, the staff of BMW Group Plant Debrecen are also preparing a number of interesting facts.
Áron Szekeres, HR Marketing and Recruitment Manager of the BMW Group Plant Debrecen added that there will also be a special iX car to see, try, and get into. Visitors can also find out more about job vacancies.
The 2nd Debrecen Professional Festival 2023 will take place on the 13th of May 2023 between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Kossuth Square.
