The birthday celebrations were also aimed at promoting literature and children’s book culture as a tribute to Magda Szabó’s novel.
The Sziget-kék all-year-round park opened on 31st of July 2022 and has played a central role in the city’s life ever since.
“The popularity of the park is clear; anyone who comes to the park will see that there are many children and families as soon as the weather is nice. From all over the country, many foreigners come to Sziget-kék, and there are even many who come here especially to visit us,” Erzsébet Judit Kiss, the facilities manager, said.
There were giant bubbles and cake on Friday, but the weekend also included a book fair, literary therapy sessions, concerts and a costume contest for families.
