From washing machines to toasters, from clothes to furniture, piles of unusable or worn-out household appliances, equipment and other waste littered Hajó Street.
During the waste collection campaign, people in Debrecen can eliminate unnecessary items that do not fit in the rubbish bin or cannot be taken away during regular waste collection.
The A.K.S.D. Ltd. collects waste in the city from April to November. Up to August this year, around 500 tonnes have been collected, 120 tonnes less than a year earlier.
Each resident can apply for a waste collection once a year. The waste must be deposited up to one day before the collection date. But not just anything.
It is an important rule that construction debris and hazardous waste – such as flat glass – which endangers physical safety, are not allowed to be taken away by A.K.S.D.
The residents of Debrecen can continue to bring their refuse, construction debris and hazardous waste to the Residential Waste Yard free of charge.
The list of waste that can be deposited is available on the A.K.S.D. website.
