The real estate market in Debrecen is booming. Experts discussed the latest trends and the economic transformation of Debrecen at the national conference of real estate property valuers. The programme was jointly organised by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen, Biblio-Markt Ltd. and the Hungarian Real Estate Association.
Economists and real estate experts from all over the country attended the valuation conference at the University of Debrecen’s Böszörményi Road campus. The national exchange of views also discussed current issues related to the sector, such as leasehold and the university’s role in urban development.
“I think that the University of Debrecen and the city of Debrecen can feel, through their example, that a fruitful relationship between the city and the university can bring unprecedented benefits to both parties”, Veronika Fenyves, Dean of the Faculty of Economics said.
The professional programme also gave the participants an insight into the economic and real estate market situation in Debrecen. Lajos Barcsa gave a presentation on the present and future of Debrecen. The deputy mayor also spoke about the impact of investments in the city on the real estate market.
“A Hilton hotel will open by the end of the year, a Mercure hotel has recently opened in the city, and another international hotel chain is about to open, so we can see that the arrival of international industrial developments and international service centres has also boosted the commercial accommodation market”, said Deputy Mayor, Lajos Barcsa.
In addition to the presentations and panel discussions, the conference participants also had the opportunity to visit some of Debrecen’s major investments.
