The details were presented at a press conference held on the 12th of October 2023 by András Varga, the municipal representative of the district.
András Varga said that another traffic improvement has been started in Tócóskert recently, as the parking lot between Derék utca 64-68 is now getting a new asphalt pavement. The residents had asked to renew the pavement of the old and outdated parking lot in this section, and he is very happy that this work will be carried out in the third phase of the large-scale asphalt works. He added that the works will be carried out entirely with municipal funds under the Debrecen 2030 programme, at a cost of HUF 40 million.
As regards the timetable of the works, the municipal councillor pointed out that the contractor started by milling the asphalt, followed by the levelling of the utilities, then the laying of the asphalt and finally the painting of the parking signs.
András Varga added that the works will be 110 metres long and are expected to take 3-4 weeks, but the contractor will do his best to finish the works sooner, weather permitting.
He also said that this improvement would not only improve the quality of the parking spaces, but would also increase the number of parking spaces, as the painting would allow 10% more cars to park in this area without affecting any green space.
