The aim of the staff of the institution is still to popularise the natural sciences in an entertaining and understandable way.

Modern IT achievements are a big hit with the children at Agora, such as the dancing humanoid robot.

The equipment park of the Science Experience Center continued to expand in 2023, one of the institution’s newest tools is a laser spirograph.

‘In the case of the regular spirograph, you can draw on the sheet with a pen or pencil using plastic gears. This differs in that there is no paper here, we draw on the wall with the help of a laser,’ the demonstrator of the Agora Science Experience Center, Gábor Szabó said.

Last year, about 40,000 interested people were attracted to Agora’s programs. Those interested joined the researchers’ night and were able to see the special features of the Agora at several outings and events, such as the Science Fair.

More than four hundred children visited their summer camp, and like the previous year, the third WATCH, career guidance program, is starting with 64 girl students.

‘During the program, we try to introduce them to the beauty of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers in the various sessions. We want to confirm to them that in these areas they can cope  at least as well as the boys, only because of stereotypes they don’t have to discard them when it comes to higher education, ‘said professional group leader,  Zsófia Hajduk.

In 2024, the Agora Science Experience Center will also be preparing a variety of colourful programs to encourage as many young people as possible to get to know the natural sciences with the help of interactive tools.
