The proceeds of the event are used to support a different initiative every year, this year they are supporting a program against loneliness of young adults, as loneliness is increasingly characteristic of young people.

The “Becoming an Adult” (Felnőtté válás) program of the University Reformed Church fights against the loneliness of young people between the ages of 18 and 25.

The proceeds of the fifth Great Temple Charity Ball will now be used for this program. Board of trustees chairman György Kossa put it this way ‘the Hungarian Reformed Church, the University of Debrecen and the city are like body and soul to each other’.

‘So in education, we have a common past, we share a common creed, as we jointly form the intellectual elite of the city of Debrecen and our country, we help those in trouble with our combined strength when necessary,’ he added.

Deputy Mayor István Puskás thanked the cooperation, which is natural for the Civic people.

‘Thank you to live together and implement our common values every day. All of this, which is much more than civilian identity, since the basis of everything is Christian ethics and the Christian faith, shared by those present in the city, in the hall, and I trust that many of us outside the hall also profess, share and we will live it actively,’ he stressed.

The City Leader also shared a post on social media in which he drew attention to the importance of social responsibility.

The proceeds of the charity evening are donated to a different cause every year, and in the past, for example, cross-border programs were also supported in this way.
