The initial section of the road leading to the Pallag Housing Estate has been asphalted

Mayor László Papp said that there are road construction and large-scale asphalting works in several places in the city. As an example, he mentioned that Basahalom Street, Bádogos Street, Bádogos köz, Tóth Árpád Street have been completed, and the construction of a bus lane on Hunyadi Street is underway. He was also pleased to announce the completion of the first section of Fekete István Street in Pallag.

The mayor pointed out that Pallag is a dynamically developing suburban area of Debrecen in general, and this road is the main arterial road of the Barackvirág Residential Park, parallel to Mezőgazdász Street.

Regarding the construction of the first phase of the Fekete István Street, the mayor said that it started on the 21st of May. During the works, the section between Szelényi Ferenc Street and Bocz Ernő Street was paved with a length of 275 metres and a width of 5.5 metres.  The project included the construction of open stormwater drainage ditches. To avoid complaints about speeding, the designers have created junctions of different levels and colours, forcing drivers to slow down. This solution will be applied in several places in the future.

László Papp underlined that the city has the intention and the plan to continue the road construction in the coming period, both in the east and west direction.

Róbert Juráskó, the municipal representative of the district, stressed that this development was much awaited by the residents, as this was previously agricultural land, which was used to create this housing estate. The internal roads are still mostly private, but the municipality is committed to helping the people of Pallag. The first section of Szelényi Ferenc Street and now the first section of Fekete István Street have been completed, which will be of great help to the residents, as this is the main road of the housing estate. 

As for the other sections, he mentioned that there are still sections of road that are privately owned. Further improvements to these roads will require that these sections also come under the management of the municipality.
