After New York and before Paris, the paintings of the young Hungarian artist can be seen in Debrecen

Bright, vibrant colours and light play, a mix of exotic and sacral motifs and a serious message characterise the work of Karolina Sávolt, whose first exhibition in Debrecen, entitled “Égi csodák” (Celestial Miracles), opened on Saturday at the Reformed University Church of Debrecen. The young artist’s works have already been shown at several exhibitions in Hungary and abroad, and will be on display in the city until the end of August.

Karolina Sávolt is only 14 years old, but her paintings have already been exhibited in Dubai, New York and Turkey and now sixteen of her detailed, colourful, exotic and naturalistic paintings have arrived in Debrecen.

The young artist has been actively painting for five years, self-taught and without the help of masters, and her paintings have a serious message.

“My paintings are about environmental protection, nature conservation and animal welfare. But I also want to draw attention to positivity and beauty, so that we can notice them in our fast-paced everyday lives,” Karolina Sávolt said.

The young artist also enjoys painting sacred images. Her three-part series of paintings entitled “Égi csodák” Celestial Miracles, for example, is the title of her current exhibition. It was therefore no coincidence that the Debrecen Reformed University Church was chosen as the venue for the exhibition, which was the first time it had hosted the show.

“The pictures show the beauty of the created world around us, and at the same time they send the message that this beauty must be protected and preserved, not just admired, ”Deputy Mayor István Puskás emphasised at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition will be on display in the University Church until the 27th of August, after which the paintings will be taken to Paris.
