Capacity increasing intervention at the Széchenyi Street-Tisza István Street junction

The Municipality of Debrecen County City is implementing a capacity-enhancing intervention to improve the permeability of the Széchenyi Street – Tisza István Street intersection.  

On the Tisza István Street part of the intersection, the straight lane next to the left-turn lane will be changed from a straight lane to a left-straight lane by modifying the pavement signs and the traffic light programme. This will allow more vehicles to turn left towards the city centre (Piac Street).

The works are scheduled to start at 08.00 a.m. on the 29th of  August 2024 and are expected to last until 3.00 p.m., depending on weather conditions.

During the works, traffic will be kept open at all times, but traffic will be subject to temporary lane closures on the affected sections.

Drivers are asked to pay attention and use the intersection in accordance with the new traffic rules.
