For 25 years Schaeffler Debrecen Ltd. has played an important role in the economic life of the city. On Saturday, the company organised a family day with various programmes for the 1300 employees and their families.
Slambuc (traditon Hungarian dish) was simmering in the cooking kettles in the yard of Schaeffler Debrecen Ltd. in the Határ Road Industrial Park on Saturday.
“In these 25 years, there have been all sorts of things, periods of crisis, very good years, but what is most important is stability. The fact that we can keep growing, that we can keep providing work for our employees. I believe that these 25 years should be cherished. Because there are not many companies in Debrecen that have been here for 25 years, and I trust that we will be here for another 25 years at least,” Managing Director of Schaeffler Debrecen Kft. Péter Szabó emphasised.
The company currently employs 1300 people. According to Mayor László Papp, the company is a key player in Debrecen’s economic life and its social commitment is exemplary.
“On the one hand, in the field of sport, as it has been the title sponsor and one of the main supporters of our handball team for many, many years now. On the other hand, in the field of education, it has been setting an example for more than a decade now to the companies in Debrecen, as the students of Debrecen who are educated at the Schaeffler Academy and who want to go into the automotive industry, the mechanical engineering industry and metalworking are given serious opportunities,” László Papp said.
The family day offered activities for all ages, with various skill games and, for example, some could take part in a factory tour.
