Children and students aged 6-14 attending public educational institutions or kindergartens in Debrecen can use local public transport free of charge with the Junior Debrecen City Card.
The Junior Debrecen City Card can be applied for at the following link: https://debrecenvaroskartya.hu/junior-varoskartya
The Municipality of Debrecen asks the representatives of eligible children to register as soon as possible.
The local transport company (DKV) will assign free local transport passes to the cards to be prepared based on the registration. Afterwards, the operator and data controller of the city card Főnix Rendezvényszervező Nonprofit Kft. will deliver the cards to the institutions.
In September, free public transport was available to those concerned with presenting a photo ID, which can be used for personal identification. DKV will extend this possibility to October.
If the Junior Debrecen City Card is registered by the 20th of October, it will be available from the 1st of November.
If the registration occurs later, the discount can be applied to DKV public transport by presenting the card from the 1st of December.
Children who registered for the card in the previous school or kindergarten year do not need to register again. From September, they can travel free with their Junior Debrecen City card on the DKV public transport.
Since the start of the program, more than 15,000 Junior Debrecen City Cards have been registered.
