In November 2024, for the 21st time, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences will organise a distinguished event of the Hungarian scientific life, the Hungarian Science Festival 2024, a series of national and cross-border programmes, which will include topics of great interest such as the analysis of global economic and political processes, climate change, the effects of energy problems, the practical application of artificial intelligence, and other lectures related to social sciences and arts.
This year, the University of Debrecen (UD) will again join the national series of events to showcase the latest scientific achievements in a credible way and to raise the interest of younger generations in scientific careers.
The University’s faculties, research groups and researchers will also contribute to this year’s programmes, which will provide a cross-section of the work that is taking place in almost all disciplines at the institution.
“For those of us in the scientific community, November is indeed a celebration, as it is the month when we can present to the public the results of our work over a whole year, or even several years. However, we should not forget that the holidays are always preceded by the perhaps less spectacular, but all the busier weekdays, when researchers and research groups work together for the results that the University of Debrecen will present in the framework of the Hungarian Science Festival,” Vice-Rector for Science of the University of Debrecen László Csernoch told hirek.unideb.hu.
The events will open on Friday the 8th of November in Nyíregyháza with a multidisciplinary conference on Scientific Counselling in the Service of Society, organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences, around the theme of lifestyle, health and quality of life research.
There will also be a workshop on the EU Presidency and 20 years of Hungarian EU membership, and a conference to celebrate the 110+1 anniversary of the Pulmonary Clinic. The series of events will traditionally end with the Doctoral Inauguration Ceremony on Saturday the 23rd of November in the Main Building Lobby.
