Four new BMW police cars have been added to the fleet of the Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters.
The keys of these new police cars were handed over today at the BMW Group Factory Debrecen. The new vehicles will strengthen police presence and, thus, public safety. The Police Headquarters now has a fleet of more than 250 cars.
Police sirens sounded on Wednesday, but this time not during a deployment, but in front of the BMW Group Debrecen Plant Communication Center. The German-owned automotive giant handed over four vehicles with police equipment to the county police headquarters.
These vehicles will enable a rapid response and effective detection of infringements. I believe these cars will not only be vehicles but also symbols of security in Debrecen,” József Gyurosovics, the county police chief, said.
According to József Gyurosovics, thanks to the work of the police officers, Hajdú-Bihar County and Debrecen are now among the safest areas in the country. The vehicles symbolise the long-term cooperation between the BMW factory in Debrecen and the police headquarters.
“Urban safety is the basis for a good community and for Debrecen citizens to feel safe daily. We are proud to be able to contribute to increasing safety in and around Debrecen thanks to our vehicles,” Hans-Peter Kemser, President and CEO of BMW Group Factory Debrecen, said.
“Safety, development and prosperity must determine the future and development strategy of Debrecen, “ László Papp said. The mayor added that the municipality always supports cooperation that guarantees development and security.
“It is vital that the police presence is tangible for the people, for those on the streets. This police presence will be powerful and effective thanks to these vehicles. In the coming years, the safety parameters will improve even further in Debrecen,” László Papp said.
The new vehicles will be used primarily in Debrecen for traffic, patrol and public order tasks.
