Derecske-based Agroszika Kft. has set up a new site in the municipality’s industrial park for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company, which is active in civil engineering and transport, received more than HUF 200 million in subsidies to develop it.

The company’s new premises were equipped with solar panels in a modern building to promote sustainability.

The development will serve the company’s economic growth. The company is also active in earthmoving, transport, and agro-technical reclamation. It will also provide an opportunity to increase its workforce.

“We can now start a new chapter with the new site, which is not only a new symbol of our development but also the realisation of our dreams,” Krisztina Hajdú-Kalmár, Managing Director of Agroszika Kft., said.

Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa said the company is one of 16 that will be setting up a site in the municipality’s 14-hectare SME Park. This is also part of the city’s programme to support small and medium-sized enterprises, which play a vital role in Debrecen’s economy.

“When we work for SMEs, we can say that we are also working for nearly half of the people employed in Debrecen so that they can carry out their daily tasks in better conditions,” the deputy mayor stressed.

The deputy mayor added that Debrecen is also counting on the Bihar part of the county to help the region expand further and offers its support. In this context, István Vitányi, Member of Parliament for the region, pointed out that the Bihor part of the region is well placed in the development of transport infrastructure.

A motorway is already running to the border, the electrification of the Püspökladány-Berettyóújfalu railway was completed a year ago, and a Debrecen-Berettyóújfalu-Nagyvárad railway line is being planned. The train would stop at three stations, and the two large settlements would be accessible in 40-50 minutes, he said.

Agroszika Kft. used HUF 209 million from national and EU funding to set up its new Debrecen site.
