Santa Claus also visited St Ephrem Greek Catholic Primary School on the feast of Bishop Nicholas. After eating the contents of the candy packages, the little ones worked off the extra calories with the now traditional Santa Claus Run on the 6th of December 2024.

Santa Claus arrived with his little helpers to the sparkling-eyed junior primary school students. The students happily received the packages from him. The school could not miss the Santa Claus run on the 6th of December this time either.

Deputy Mayor Diána Széles, who was present at the event, emphasised that it was good to see that schools are also coming up with their own physical activity events, as this is the essence of the Move, Debrecen! movement. The Deputy Mayor then whistled for the nearly one hundred elementary school children to set off who, led by Gréta Kerekes and the school’s Hungarian teacher, ran around the institution. During the cheerful jog, everyone who could stylishly wore Santa hats.

“If the teaching staff, the teaching colleagues, and the physical education teachers feel that the movement is theirs, then small events like this will come out of it. And talking to the children, they were really looking forward to this event, they can dress up in ugly sweaters, wear Santa hats, and be in the company of Santa Claus, so we can create a truly colorful day for them, and that’s the point,” Diána Széles said.
