The event was also attended by Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Deputy State Secretary for Civil and Social Relations. At the closing event of the County Civil Community Service Centre on the 5th of December, 2024 the County Civil Organisation of the Year Award was also presented.
Representatives of almost 40 organisations from Hajdú-Bihar attended this year’s closing event of the County Civil Community Service Centre.
“This programme was launched several years ago. Back then we started with 5-10 NGOs, and now for the fourth year in a row, the number is growing, more and more of you are working so hard that it is worth and fitting to thank you at the end of the year,” the Office Manager Margit Serfőzőné Bencsik said to the attendees.
According to Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Deputy State Secretary for Civil and Social Relations, community and service are the key to the activities of civil society organisations and the county center that supports them.
“What Margó and his family do here and everyone else does is that there are communities and we serve the communities. This is a very important message to you that you can count on us,” he pointed out in his speech.
Deputy Mayor Diána Széles drew attention to the applications for civil society organisations, including the support of the City Civil Fund, at the event.
“Both the government and the local government strive to be able to help everyone with minimal application criteria,” she emphasised.
This year, the County Civil Society Organisation of the Year award was given to a cross-border partner organisation, the Hungarian Youth Democratic Association of Nagyszalonta. Sándor Cseke, the Head of the Transylvanian organisation, received the recognition of the County Civil Society Service Center.
