Several local companies and sports clubs joined the Advent Fundraising Campaign of the Debrecen Charity Board this year as well. Nearly 30 students from the Monostorpályi Road Member Institution of the Kinizsi Pál Elementary School in Debrecen were able to receive the gifts from the DEAC Basketball Academy and sports organising companies in person at the city’s Christmas tree.
In connection with the event, CEO of the DEAC Basketball Academy, Norbert Nagy, said, among other things, that it is the second year that the academy, the employees of Cívis Basketball Club Ltd. and DEAC Sport Nonprofit Public Benefit Ltd. have been giving presents to children on Christmas, trying to make their holidays more enjoyable. Here and now, they have been able to personally hand over presents to a total of 28 children, but they have also collected gifts for children aged 3-7 years as part of the charity box fundraising campaign. From these, they put together gift boxes for boys and girls containing toys and sports equipment, DEAC souvenirs, mugs, hats, scarves, which will be delivered to even more children with the help of the Debrecen Charity Board.
According to Norbert Nagy, unfortunately, not everyone can afford to give a gift, and so not everyone receives a gift. That’s why they believe that those organisations, including themselves, that can, should be happy to help as part of their social responsibility. They would like to continue this tradition in the coming years and continue to expand the circle of those they give gifts to.
