The construction of the new factory of Harro Höfliger Hungary Ltd. in Debrecen is progressing well. The completed plant will have production on two levels, covering an area of around 9,000 square metres. It will be possible to manufacture not only components but also ready-assembled machines for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries.
The investment will also take sustainability into account. The German-owned company has set a target of carbon-free operation by 2035.
“We are diversifying the business sector in Debrecen. With the pharmaceutical industry, the medical technology industry, a new segment of the pharmaceutical machinery industry is coming here that is not present in Debrecen. We will create new knowledge, new jobs with increased value,” CEO of Harro Höfliger Hungary Ltd. Csaba Juhász said.
In the next two to three years, the German-owned company would expand its team by a total of 250 people. HR manager Péter Kanizsár said of the production, “It’s going to be a really exciting and creative workflow.”
“Some of the colleagues we found at the end of last year are already in Germany, undergoing training in the technology of custom machine manufacturing. Custom machine manufacturing is a particularly exciting genre within the manufacturing sector,” Péter Kanizsár emphasised.
The investment will be completed this year and with it the production process will start in 2025.
