AKSD Ltd. issued a press release on the updates in the operation of their customer service and waste transport.

As they wrote, MOHU MOL Waste Management Ltd. is standardising the telephone contact details of its customer services nationwide. From the 10th of February 2025, property users in the AKSD service area can call the central telephone number (+36) 1 776 7777 with questions, notifications and complaints concerning public waste management services.

When the call is made, the postcode of the property address must be provided, after which the call will be transferred to the customer service staff.

Green garden waste

AKSD Ltd., as the regional coordinator of the national waste management system, collects garden green waste separately under the changed conditions. In the service area of the service provider, green waste will be collected every two weeks from March to October and 4 times from November to February.

– In Debrecen, collection takes place every odd week from March to October on the same day as the separate collection of selective waste, so if a street has a mixed waste collection on Tuesday and a selective collection on Wednesday, for example, the green waste collection will also take place on Wednesday of the odd weeks.

– For residents with a brown bin for green waste collection, from March onwards, green waste will be collected every even-numbered week instead of every week.

– For property users who do not have separate collection containers and do not use a yellow bag, the collection date for green waste can be found on this website using a street search application, and information can be obtained from the Customer Service Office.

How to get a bag?

From the 3rd of February, the operator will offer the possibility to pick up bags for green waste collection at 3 sites.

In Debrecen, two types of bags will be available: the familiar green one and the new light-coloured one provided by TAPPE Ltd. (as regional coordinator).

Property users will be entitled to 2 free bags per collection day, meaning a total of 18 bags until the 30th of June. For property users with a brown bin for collecting green waste, the half-yearly quantity is 9, as they already have a bin. Bags can be collected at the same time at the following distribution points:

Collection of garden green waste collection bags:

– To be placed on the collection day as per the MOHU MOL Ltd. collection calendar and the waste calendar available on the AKSD website.

– The bag shall be placed in a non-spillable manner and shall be used exclusively for the collection of garden plant parts (leaves, grass clippings, weeds in bags, twigs, branches in bundles up to 1 m in length and 5 cm in diameter).

– If the bag contains municipal waste or other non green waste, the service provider may refuse separate collection of the waste.

As they pointed out, the free use of containers for the collection of mixed waste will be abolished. Due to the change in the legal environment, from February, new communal waste collection containers will not be free for residential property users.

Residents can decide whether to buy a new container from AKSD or from another supplier if they need one. It is essential, however, that only a black or grey-coloured container with a capacity as laid down in the service contract and complying with the MSZ EN 840 standard, as specified in the legislation, may be used. The property user must notify the Territorial Service Provider of the number and capacity of the new collection container purchased.

Residents who are currently using a container owned by AKSD will not be affected by this change. In 2025, the following list prices will be available for the purchase of containers from AKSD:

Container size Gross HUF/piece

60-80-120 litres HUF 13 490

240 litres HUF 20 650

Finally, they added that the sticker sent by post as an annex to the invoice must be affixed to the mixed waste container, as indicated in the information.
