Several aspects of waste collection have changed in Debrecen.

Since February, individual residential property users are no longer entitled to receive new mixed (communal) waste collection bins for free. Previously, the waste bins were owned by AKSD, but from February 1 onward, if someone needs a new bin, they must purchase it. The waste collection bin must meet the standards designated by MOHU.

Domokos Csilla, the spokesperson for AKSD Kft., told local television that the service provider has sent a sticker by mail as an attachment to the invoice, which must be placed on existing bins. The deadline is March 30. Until then, waste can still be collected from bins without a sticker, but after that, it will no longer be possible.

She mentioned that MOHU has made it mandatory for service providers in settlements with more than 5,000 residents to collect green waste every two weeks from March to October.

In Debrecen, this will be collected every odd-numbered week until the end of October, on the same days as selective waste collection.

AKSD customers can place up to two green bags for collection at a time, which can be obtained at the customer service office in Debrecen. During the autumn-winter period, green waste will be collected four times.
