Breathtaking beaches, historic sites and 341 sunny days a year. The island is at its best in spring.

In three weeks, on the 1st of  April, Wizz Air will re-launch its service between Debrecen and Larnaca in Cyprus. The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays until the 25th of October.

Wizz Air first started flying to the Greek island of Cyprus from Debrecen in 2018, when the flights were seasonal from spring to autumn, later it became a year-round service, but now it is only available from spring to autumn again.

In Cyprus, there is very little rainfall in summer and it is very hot, so the island is at its best in spring, when everything is still green and flowers are everywhere.

On average, the island enjoys 341 days of sunshine a year, so there’s no need to worry about a rainy week in summer.

Currently travellers  can fly from Debrecen to London with Wizz Air and to Munich with Lufthansa. It has recently been announced that the German airline will fly five times a week between Debrecen and Munich from April instead of three times a week.

In the summer, there will also be charter flights to Barcelona in Spain, Tirana in Albania, Antalya in Turkey, Monastir in Tunisia and Heraklion on the island of Crete in Greece.

Press reports have also emerged that Israel’s Israir plans to launch a Debrecen-Tel-Aviv flight at the end of April, but this destination has not yet appeared in the airline’s booking system.
