The final stages of the road renovation of the Kádár dűlő in Ondód have begun. The work, which is expected to last until mid-June, will see the entire, almost 4.5-kilometer road section between Ondód and the M35 motorway renovated. Similar, large-scale road renovation works are taking place throughout the city in order to improve traffic safety.
Preparatory work is underway on the Kádár dülő, and the final phase of road renovation has begun. The reconstruction started in 2018, and sections have been renovated in several phases since then. With the modernisation of the last, one and a half kilometer section, which is now underway, the entire road section between the Kádár dülő, Ondód and the M35 highway will receive a new asphalt surface.
“This is the only road leading to Ondód, so this has been an extremely important and central topic in the lives of the people of Ondód in recent years. The community centre was renewed after 96 years, and they were very, very happy about that, and the other most important thing was to complete the only road to Ondód,” Municipal Representative, Erzsébet Katona said.
Last year, the local government spent more than 4 billion forints on the development of the city’s road network, and this year large-scale road renovations will continue throughout Debrecen in order to improve the safety and quality of transport.
“These works are also taking place in the outer areas of the city: the transport system of Kismacs, Nagymacs, and now Ondód has been renewed in recent years, and we will continue towards the southern and southeastern parts of the city, so that we can make transport easier and more comfortable for those living in the outer areas and smaller city districts with renovations and investments,” Mayor László Papp said.
The mayor added this year, the construction of new roads will also be implemented through city investment, and in the meantime, major junction developments are already underway.
