The International Day of Families is celebrated every year on 15 May, in accordance with a UN resolution, to raise awareness of the vital role of families and the alliances that form the basis of a sustainable society. It is in the family that children learn how to connect with others and with the natural world around them.Debrecen Zoo believes that being close to nature helps strengthen family bonds while creating unforgettable memories. That’s why the park is committed to supporting family communities, whether it’s a multi-generational outing, a single-parent visit or a first shared zoo experience, with its renewed family-friendly ticket and pass schemes this season. With the single-parent family day ticket and annual family pass schemes, Debrecen Zoo aims to enable all families to be active participants in exploring nature and enjoy a meaningful leisure experience that entertains, educates and builds community together.
Children will once again take centre stage at this year’s first-ever three-day Children’s Day event, 23-25 May Debrecen Zoo, where with the wonders of nature, renewed in spring, the Zoo’s Baby Boom stars, unlimited theme park adventures and a wide range of activities for children and adults, including concerts and dance performances, puppet shows, magic and clown shows, aerial gymnastics, sports shows and themed activities.
To crown the family-friendly month, on Saturday 31 May, the Three Kings, Three Queens (In Hungarian Három Királyfi, Három Királylány) Movement will launch the “Take a Child to the Heights! ” event.
In view of the three-day children’s day, the theme park can be visited with a 2900 HUF per person ticket or with a magic wristband for unlimited use of the amusement machines, which can be purchased for 9.900 HUF, while zoo tickets are available at the normal price on site and online. Due to Children’s Day, Junior City Card holders can enter the amusement park free of charge. In addition, all children will receive a free one-off amusement park voucher including use of any amusement machine. Of course, all the programme elements of the three-day event are free of charge for pass-holders. With an experience pass, VIP pass or magic wristband, the amusement park games can be used all day without limit! Tickets can be purchased online and on site. Debrecen Zoo is not forgetting about the older children either, the park is offering free admission and a bumper car ride to Debrecen students graduating from high school this year.
