Cycling is not only a fast and economical way to get around, it also improves your well-being, reduces stress and contributes to a more liveable city. In Debrecen, among many companies, dozens of the more than 100 employees of Sensirion Hungary Ltd.joined the Hungarian Cycling Club’s “Cycle to Work” campaign.
This year, the Swiss company again provided breakfast (cereals, fruit and yoghurt) for employees to start the day with energy. Maintenance and Infrastructure Director of Sensirion Hungary Ltd. Dr. Imre Török said that he cycles to work whenever he can. Not only for faster transport, but so he can spend this time exercising and staying healthy.
Sensirion’s subsidiary in Debrecen is committed to sustainable transport, healthy lifestyles and a green working environment. Bicycle service posts were installed in the Debrecen Regional and Innovation Science Technology Park in 2022 and in 2023 in Sinai Miklós Street, in the area between the German Primary School in Debrecen and the Vénkerti Primary School and Primary Art School, which can be used by all cyclists.
Sensirion is committed to reducing its ecological footprint, which is something they constantly focus on in the design of their working environment and operations. At the Swiss company’s Debrecen site, both of its highly energy-efficient factory halls are cooled and heated with geothermal energy, meaning the company uses no gas at all. The elimination of fossil fuels, advanced building automation and environmentally conscious water treatment make it clear that the green factory of the future is already operating here in Debrecen.
