Flower distribution in Debrecen returns in 2025

Following years of tradition, individual municipal representatives in Debrecen will once again distribute annual flowers and balcony plant seedlings to residents of their districts in 2025.

The municipality launched the flower distribution initiative in 1998 at the suggestion of the Fidesz parliamentary group to make Debrecen more beautiful and filled with flowers, together with its residents. This tradition was interrupted only in 2020 due to COVID-19. That year, the flowers intended for distribution were placed in public spaces around the city, forming the message “Thank you, Debrecen!”

In 2025, approximately 120,000 annual and balcony plants will be distributed. The distribution period begins on Wednesday, May 21, and is expected to last until early June.

Residents interested in the flower distribution should regularly follow updates. The events occur at outdoor venues and are subject to weather conditions, which may cause schedule changes. In addition to the municipal website, it is advisable to check the social media updates of individual municipal representatives.

Those attending the distribution must bring their address card, as representatives can only provide flowers to residents of their respective districts.
