According to Lajos Szűcs, President of the Hungarian National Fishing Association (MOHOSZ), it would be worthwhile to develop the Látóképi reservoir into a fishing tourism service point and centre in cooperation with the town.
“The essence of this development would be to create a visitor centre on the four hectares of land next to the lake, which would increase the comfort level of fishing with accommodation, restaurants and other important services,” Mayor of Debrecen László Papp said.
The mayor added that they are happy to cooperate with the MOHOSZ because sport fishing is a popular recreational activity. Thousands of people spend their leisure time here every year. The organisation also has a significant membership in Debrecen.
