The Municipality of Debrecen respectfully reminds the public that to protect people and animals, everyone must respect the rules regarding firecrackers and fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Follow the rules for the use of firecrackers and fireworks:
- The use of firecrackers is strictly prohibited
- Fireworks of category 3 with a higher noise level and explosive power may be purchased by an adult only between 28 and 31 December and used from 6 p.m. on 31 December until 6 a.m. on 1 January
It is essential that the following safety rules for the use of fireworks are respected:
- Keep at least 50 metres away from buildings and people,
- It can only be used in an open area,
- Adequate fire extinguishing equipment must be provided,
- Do not use such devices in or near premises where highly flammable or explosive substances are produced, processed, used, stored or dispensed.
The improper use of firecrackers and fireworks is subject to control and punishment by the police.
As of 2019, the Municipality of Debrecen does not plan to celebrate with fireworks this year. The farewell to the New Year will be celebrated with the live music concerts of “BÚÉK DEBRECEN” on 31 December at Kossuth Square, providing lasting memories and a good atmosphere.
