The 55th travelling conference of the Renaissance-Baroque Research Group has arrived in Debrecen.

The work of Albert Molnár Szenci is also a theme. The 450-year-old Albert Molnár of Senczi will also be commemorated at the event, which was organised in collaboration with several academic workshops.

The Reformed pastor, writer, linguist and philosopher, who studied in Debrecen, among other places, was an outstanding figure of the Hungarian Reformation with his Latin dictionaries, psalteries and Hungarian translations.

His work is best illustrated by the Reformed hymnal, which begins with the one hundred fifty psalms translated by Albert Molnár Szenczi.

“Debrecen is reviving the culture of literature and books by cultivating memory and various events. And the conference will further support this through the tools of science,” Deputy Mayor István Puskás emphasised at the opening of the meeting.
