The campaign promoting a healthy lifestyle was organised again in early May. This time, about 1,300 employees from 16 companies joined the initiative, and the work community awards were presented on Thursday.
Krones Hungary Ltd. has organised its charity running race again this year. Several companies in Debrecen are striving to provide their employees with opportunities to exercise and encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
At the beginning of May, companies with German ties participated in a small-field football tournament. The Deutsche Liga also joined the city campaign called “Move Together, Debrecen! – 10 Days of Movement”. The Harro Höfliger team was also happy to join the campaign promoting health preservation. The health of their employees is very important to the company, which is why they regularly organise fruit days and community events related to exercise.
“If colleagues are healthier, then perhaps they can also be more mentally fulfilled in the creative jobs that we bring to the life of Debrecen. In addition, of course, the event is also a community experience for the city of Debrecen, which is always a matter of the heart,” HR Manager of Harro Höfliger Hungary Ltd. Péter Kanizsár emphasised.
Those who joined the initiative addressing work communities were able to receive a certificate of recognition. In addition to existing city and university sports events, the organisers specifically tried to activate the employees of local companies with the ten-day programme in the spirit of a healthy lifestyle.
“Their carrying capacity, their vitality, and their attitude are completely different during this kind of exercise. I think it was also very good for team building, and it was also a great opportunity to get to know different forms of exercise and their general health,” Managing Director of the Hungarian Sports and Lifestyle Development Cluster, Tamás Dékán said.
Experience shows that in addition to large companies, more and more small businesses are joining the initiative, as they have recognised that this is a good opportunity to support the health of their employees.
“This year, 1,300 employees from 16 companies got active during the campaign week. The participants were also very creative in terms of the forms of exercise. Everything from the company group tournament to the home darts championship was in the repertoire, “ Managing Director of EDC Debrecen, Zoltán Pécskay added.
According to the plans, the programme series called “Move Together” Debrecen! will be announced among local companies next year as well.
