An exhibition of architectural works by Hydra Stat Kft. has opened at the Kölcsey Centre.
The photos show designs of buildings in Debrecen and other cities. After the opening, the company staff gave a jubilee lecture to commemorate the works of the past 33 years.
Mercure Hotel, Nagyerdei Stadium, and Forest Office are just a few of the iconic buildings in Debrecen that the company has designed over the past 33 years.
The company’s name comprises the elements of its activity: hydraulics and statics. Elemér Karvaly, aged 85, was one of the company’s founders and said it has had a successful decade.
“We don’t go off on adventures; we only deal with foundation, civil engineering, and structural construction. That’s what we’re somewhat good at, and we don’t wander off to get into this or that because you can’t be good at everything. You must be good at some things, cultivate and make your mark with them,” Elemér Karvaly said.
The company, which has a three-decade history, works with professionals from Debrecen, of whom the city can be proud.
As Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa mentioned, their work can also be found in other cities in the country.
“I think that these buildings not only influence the everyday life of Debrecen in architectural terms, but also its livability, because these buildings are community meeting points where we like to be and their work has added a lot to us, the people of Debrecen”, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa said.
At the opening ceremony, the Deputy Mayor presented a commemorative plaque to the company’s representatives in recognition of the quality of their work for the city.
