A new youth community space has been opened in Debrecen.

Comfortably furnished lounges and a spacious club room have also been created in the approximately 300 square metre facility, which is located in the basement row of the Gambrinus köz.

The new community space, created in partnership with the municipality and DEMKI, is primarily for students in Debrecen, where they can organise workshops, student forums or even leisure activities. The construction of the facility is the result of extensive cooperation and years of hard work, in which the students of the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre played an important role: they painted the walls.

“We looked through the city’s property portfolio and found this vacant space, which now has a fantastic new feature and is reopening its doors on the Gambrinus köz cellar row. I feel that the young people are very appreciative that the city can provide this opportunity,” Mayor László Papp said.

The BeugRoom in the city centre will be open to students from the 5th of June 2024.
