A new car will roll off the production line every two minutes, Director of BMW Group Plant Debrecen Hans-Peter Kemser said.

One of the most significant construction projects in Central and Eastern Europe is progressing in several phases simultaneously in Debrecen, Hans-Peter Kemser told the Budapest Business Journal in an interview

The director of BMW Group Plant Debrecen called the launch of the dual vocational training programme at BMW Group Plant Debrecen with 100 students an important milestone, describing their arrival as a “vital step” towards the launch of a new vocational training structure in Debrecen. One hundred students have started the dual training programme.

Hans-Peter Kemser also said that series production will start in 2025 when they will have 1,500 employees and a car will roll off the production line every two minutes.

As is known, the Debrecen plant will produce a model that has never existed before, the Neue Klasse. This, the director said, will enable a whole new level of interaction between the driver and the vehicle, with iDrive vehicle control technology effectively turning the car into a digital experience.
