With the new office, BT aims to further strengthen its commitment to a diverse and highly skilled Hungarian workforce and Debrecen.

The company opened its service centre in Debrecen in 2007. Its commitment to the city is demonstrated by the cooperation it has developed over the past decades with various NGOs, educational institutions, and industry competitors.

At the office opening ceremony, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa emphasised that the city aims to strengthen further the service sector, which has a high added value for the economy, in the coming years.

In the last two years, three hundred new jobs have been created in this sector. BT currently employs 500 people.

“It is important for the city that Debrecen’s economy is diversified so that many industries can find their place in our city. If one industry suffers a crisis in certain periods, the other can take over, making Debrecen’s economy and the city life more stable,” the Deputy Mayor highlighted.
