TIME magazine published its “TIME100 Most Influential Companies” list and included Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. (CATL) again this year.
Each year, companies that have made the most significant impact on the world through their innovative developments and achievements are included in the list.
TIME named CATL as the winner of the battery technology industry and highlighted the company’s latest innovative solution, the industry-changing Qilin battery, which enables vehicles to travel more than 1,000 km on a single charge. This is no less than double the average range of electric cars currently on the roads in the US.
TIME also praised CATL’s newly released Compressed Battery, which boasts twice the energy density of the best currently available on the market. This innovation will greatly advance the design and production of electric passenger aircraft.
TIME also recognised CATL’s ability to bring its innovative solutions, developed in the laboratory, to market very quickly, they added.
Mass production of a compressed battery designed for electric vehicles, unveiled in April 2023, is expected to begin later this year; while mass production of the Qilin battery, unveiled in June 2022, began in March 2023.
