Mayor of Debrecen László Papp met Barbara Zollmann, Executive Board Member of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK).
Barbara Zollmann, Executive Board Member of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK), visited the Old City Hall of Debrecen on the 25th of January 2022, meeting with the Mayor of Debrecen László Papp.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa and Managing Director of EDC Debrecen Urban and Economic Development Center Zoltán Póser.
The participants discussed cooperation with German companies in Debrecen, the importance of relations and investment opportunities in Debrecen.
In recent years, German companies including BMW, Krones, Schaeffler, Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions (formerly IT Services), Deufol, Bürkle, Vitesco Technologies, Diehl Aviation, Manz AG, Amazonen-Werke and Thyssenkrupp, have settled in the city.
Consequently, the topic of opening a German-language primary school has been discussed several times, as more and more German companies have chosen to invest here.
The new German-language primary school will welcome children from September 2022 in the renovated and remodeled building of the Vénkerti Primary School.
