The Pediatric Clinic of the University of Debrecen Clinical Center has purchased a multifunctional physiotherapy device.

The use of the device will enable more effective rehabilitation and aftercare of children after injury.

The equipment was purchased with a donation of HUF 5 million from the Bárány Family for Families Foundation (Bárány Család a Családokért Alapítvány). For the second time, the foundation supports the activities and the development of equipment for the Pediatric Clinic.

“We believe that in line with the intensive development of the city of Debrecen, it is necessary to improve the health infrastructure; in accordance with the objectives of the Bárány Foundation, we would like to support the modernisation and investments that will enable the children of the city and the region to have access to the highest quality health care – Lászlóné Bárány, chair of the board of trustees of the foundation said at the handover ceremony.

The Children’s Clinic Foundation is also buying two more similar devices from other donations.

The therapeutic devices will be used in the aftercare of patients under 18 years old at the outpatient centre of the children’s rehabilitation department of the clinic on Ibolya Street.

The devices will be used for accidental or sports injuries, muscle tears, muscle strains, tendon injuries, joint problems and rheumatological diseases. The use of the devices will speed up the healing and regeneration process. In addition to the equipment, successful therapy naturally requires the active participation of physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants, whose expertise is also essential to achieve the best possible healing effect , Tamás Szabó, Director of the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Debrecen Clinical Center, said.

The three devices, together worth HUF 10 million, are expected to arrive in a few weeks.
