The tournament will take place in the Főnix Aréna and the Oláh Gábor Street Sports Hall from the 24tth of June to the 2nd of July 2023.

The FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Championship is one of the most prestigious basketball tournaments to take place in Debrecen in the city’s history, with many talented players coming to Debrecen.

The FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Cup is 44 years old and has seen 15 tournaments in which many of the stars of the future have made their mark. Vince Carter, Nikola Jokics, Steph Curry, Toni Kukoc, Pau Gasol, Gary Payton and Jayson Tatum are just some of the names of the stars who have played at the FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Championship.

In March, the draw for the event was held at the Reformed College in Debrecen, after which the national teams were divided into four groups. Hungary is in group “D” together with Argentina, South Korea and Turkey.

Hungary will play South Korea first, followed by Argentina and finally Turkey, with all three matches taking place at the Főnix Aréna, starting at 5.30 p.m.
