The Hungarian Archaeological Association has announced the Archaeology Day and the Archaeology Night in 2023.

As every year, several institutions, including the Déri Museum, will join the national series of events. The events in Debrecen take place on the 2nd and 3rd June of 2023.

Visitors will be able to get a glimpse of a real excavation in progress, and there will also be a guided tour at night.

The Archaeology Day also includes a visit to the excavations on 3rd of June from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The open day will take place at an excavation currently underway on the outskirts of the city. Visitors will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes with a professional guide. Visitors can learn about the history of the area over thousands of years through the remains of a Roman imperial (Sarmatian) cemetery excavated at the site.

Participants are advised to wear suitable clothing (closed, flat shoes; hat) for the weather and the terrain. Pre-registration is required at info@derimuzeum.hu with name, phone number and mode of travel.

The meeting point will be in front of the Knowledge Park building at 39 Vezér Street, and you can leave by car or public transport (bus 10;14/Study Park bus stop).
