After last year’s success, Zoo Debrecen is organising another Donation Day (AdományoZOO) again this year. On the 25th of November,  Donations of non-perishable food and toys are expected from visitors to the Zoo on this day. Donations will be distributed to families in need before Christmas.

The programme is an initiative of the Nagyerdei Kultúrpark in cooperation with the Debrecen Charity Board.

“For the second time this year, the Debrecen Charity Board is teaming up with Zoo Debrecen. We would like to collect non-perishable food and cleaning products and distribute them to needy families in Debrecen before Christmas”, Orsolya Földesi Földesi, office manager of the Charity Board, said at a briefing.

Besides sugar, flour and cooking oil, storybooks and children’s toys are also expected.

Besides nature conservation, education and recreation, Zoo Debrecen also attaches great importance to social responsibility. The experiential learning experience fits well with the charity fundraising.

“We also support the spirit of giving and the spirit of giving that is in so many of our fellow citizens with various additional programmes,” Sándor Gergely Nagy, Managing Director of Zoo Debrecen,  said.

Last year, the DonationoZOO Day had more than a thousand visitors. The organisers are expecting similar interest and many donations.
