Churchyard Market on the 17th of August

A farmers’ market with the widest range of products in the city, the Church Market opens on the third Saturday of every month at 8.00 a.m. in the courtyard of the Debrecen Great Church Congregation Centre, at 2 Leány Street. The next time it opens its doors on the 17th of August. 

Local farmers and artisans sell their products at reasonable prices in the heart of the city centre offering smoked pork products, meats, cheeses, jams, vegetables, pickles, artisan gifts and much more. 

As tradition has it, this time there will be “slambuc” (traditional Hungarian dish made from potatoes, pasta and bacon cooked in a pot)  and a book exchange point. Visitors can choose from hundreds of books,  any of the books can be exchanged for another book of their own or taken away for a symbolic donation.
