In collaboration with the renowned Déri Museum, we invite you to an exclusive English-language guided tour of the Munkácsy Trilogy, followed by a light show, at the Déri Museum.
Why come and see the Munkácsy Trilogy with an exclusive English-language guided tour and light show?
The Munkácsy Hall is the most popular exhibit space at the Déri Museum, as it is the home to Munkácsy’s monumental works of “Christ’s history of suffering”. The first painting of the trilogy’s “Christ before Pilate” was completed by Munkácsy in 1881. The second piece “Ecce Homo” was completed in 1896, and the third work “Golgotha” in 1884.
As of 2019, all three paintings have become the property of the Hungarian state and are housed in the Déri Museum. Even Munkácsy himself never saw all his paintings together.
